Wildcard Gaming Re-Signs Wrenchd and Welcomes Sandstorm!!!

Early last year, Wildcard Gaming put our best foot forward into the Brawlhalla scene picking up Zachary “Wrenchd” Gunderson, the #1 Ranked Player in the World at the time.  As an organization, we quickly fell in love with the esport scene inside Brawlhalla and are excited for another big year as we further expand into the space!

We are pleased to announce that we have re-signed Wrenchd for another year of Brawlhalla action.  Gunderson has been a great ambassador to the Wildcard brand and a positive role model in Professional Brawlhalla.  In 2018 Wrenchd went on to compete at every North American LAN, taking Top 3 in every event. Zachary has really been the true ‘Cinderella Story’ at most of these championships, making a losers bracket run all the way or close to the finals. Ending his year at the Brawlhalla World Championships, Wrenchd took home the silver medal, only falling in the end to first time competitor, Sandstorm.

In addition to Wrenchd...

We would like to welcome the aforementioned, Stephen “Sandstorm” Myers, to Wildcard Gaming this year! Sandstorm is fairly new to the Brawlhalla scene and is already taking it by storm (in case you were wondering, the pun was absolutely intended). Sandstorm originally started out as a Super Smash Bros. player, but recently picked up Brawlhalla and walked with confidence into the professional scene. One of his first Brawlhalla tournaments was an online event called Spring Championships which was an online major that took place in April of 2018,, where he took 9th place. We took notice of this and began to follow his play very closely. His next tournament partaking was Outplay or Dismay, only 1 month after his 9th placement in Spring Championships. Myers ended up making a ‘miracle’ losers bracket run taking every set from Loser Quarter-Finals all the way up into the Grand Finals. Stephen then reset the bracket against T1FF4NY, another Brawlhalla Professional, leading to a 3-2 victory for the tournament win. Sandstorm’s first ever LAN event was the Brawlhalla World Championship, which he finished strongly, taking the gold medal and a sweet $20,000 1st prize!

Wildcard Gaming is known to have top quality esport offerings across multiple titles, and Brawlhalla is a reinforcement to that statement. With Wrenchd and Sandstorm representing Wildcard Brawlhalla, we are excited for the new season to get cracking so we can take our piece of the announced $500 000 prize pool this year!  #stackthedeck
